Kangaroo Valley
A beautiful high-end guest house with illumination designed to harmonise with the picturesque natural landscape.
In this luxury Kangaroo Valley guesthouse, the lighting was designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural landscape. The large glazing frames the outdoor vista, becoming an extension of the interior and the exterior lighting continues this connection into the evening, elevating the scenery long after the sun goes down.
The luxurious outdoor firepit and pool are enhanced with gentle path lighting from LA Lounge’s Dark Range of antique brass exterior luminaires, including low-level lights and garden spike lights. These fittings complement the property’s rustic appeal and harmonise with the warmth of interior stone and timber finishes. The upturned trees are a defining feature of the exterior and are highlighted with discreet inground uplighters to create a striking focal point after dark.
The interior lighting was tailored to the function and atmosphere of each space. Soft uplighting and feature lighting create a warm, refined ambience in the living areas and bedrooms, while moody RGB LED strip lighting adds a dramatic contrast in the games room. Minimalistic lighting in the entertainment areas enhance the beautiful material selection and bespoke joinery. The feature raked ceilings were accentuated with wall-mounted uplighters, drawing the eye upwards to emphasise the generous volume of the space and strengthen the visual connection to the natural landscape.
